Jazmin – Band Leader, Lead Vocals, Flute, Saxophone, Keys

Meet Jazmin: Jazmin is a Versatile Soulful Powerhouse Vocalist. A Voice Over Artist. She’s actively playing out locally with Jazmin And The Gents, playing and filling in with bands such as Gen X Jukebox, The Bryce Hegge Band, The Farmer’s Daughters, Shelby’s Voyage, Tequila Alibi and Negative Waves. Jazmin studied music at Saint Cloud State University. She’s been teaching music lessons for over 17 years, currently teaching at Local Music Lessons located in Elk River, MN. She was the interim Senior Choir Director at the Salem Lutheran Church in Saint Cloud from 2008-2009. She’s performed in many musical ensembles; First Chair flutist at the Saint Cloud State Orchestra and Saint Cloud State Symphony, Saint Cloud State Concert Choir, Saint Cloud State Chamber Choir, Saint Cloud State Jazz Band, Drum Majorette for the Milaca Marching Band, Milaca Community Jazz Band and Many others. She has performed in many One-Acts, Plays and Musicals in starring roles such as Mimi in RENT, You Can’t Take It With You, And Many others.

Matty B – Lead Guitar, Vocals

Meet Matty B! He’s been teaching music for over twenty years throughout Central Minnesota. Matt has taught thousands of students of all ages and abilities. He graduated from McNally Smith in 2009 with his Associates in Guitar Performance. He actively plays out across the Midwest and locally with Jazmin And The Gents full band and two-piece. You can often find Matt filling in on lead guitar with some of Minnesota’s finest cover bands such as Anderson Daniels, West Highway, Dirt Road Dixie, Benjamin Raye & the Empire Players, Bryce Hegge band, Tequila Alibi, Negative Waves. Matt used to play with many other groups such as Last Minute Heroes, 2 Mile Final, Shelby’s Voyage, Colors of Science and runs professional sound for events working with bands such as The Farmer’s Daughters and Jazmin’s Jukebox Entertainment.

Andy – Rhythm Guitar, Lead Vocals

Andy is no stranger to the Midwest music scene with over 25 years of music performance experience. He’s a multi-instrument musician and a district, state, and national award-winning vocalist. Andy has been a big player in the various music circuits in Minnesota.

He was the singer, song writer and guitarist of his original band, Under None, which found radio play from the Midwest all the way down to North Carolina in the early 2010’s and opened for bands like Fuel and Deftones.

On the cover band circuit, he was the former front man and multi-instrument performer in Touch of Rust and was recently the drummer in Last Minute Heroes. Currently, he is the singer and rhythm guitarist in the 90s cover band Pivot and is also now a vocalist and rhythm guitarist in Jazmin and the Gents.

He’s mostly known in the tribute circle for his role as Kurt Cobain in the Midwest’s premier Nirvana tribute, Lithium. As well as playing the Billie Joe Armstrong role in the Green Day tribute, American Idiots. You can also find him playing acoustic guitar and singing at various farmer’s markets, events and private parties throughout the state.

One of his favorite music experiences was playing in the backing band for Weezer during their encore when they came to the Xcel during their Hootenanny Tour.

Outside of the music world, he spends time with his family and his dogs. He also enjoys pickleball, bowling, golf, and coaching various youth and high school level sports – and is a long-time coach and board member in the lacrosse community.

Dan – Piano, Vocals

Dan has been playing in bands since the early 1980’s. He plays keys, sings lead and backup vocals and plays a mean bass guitar. He used to tour with Minneapolis bands “The Numbers Band” and “The Hightops”. He has opened up for bands like Head East, Blood, Sweat and Tears, Ozark Mountain Dare Devils, 3 Dog Night, Commander Cody, The Suburbs and Lamont Cranston. He played with the local band “The Stranger Band” for over 20 years, gigged with the “Still Running” Band in Wisconsin. Dan also plays with the “Midnight Wine” band plus helps out other bands when they needed a Bass or Keyboard player. Dan studied Music at the University of Wisconsin, River Falls and was in Marching Band & Concert Band in High School. When he doesn’t work or play Music you can find Dan playing Farmer.

Russ – Drums

Originally from Southern California, Russ is a 20-year veteran of the US Army. He has been drumming
for over 50 years. Russ caught the performing bug at the young age of 14 when he was asked to fill in
for a no-show drummer at Tabletop Tavern in Orville, California. He continued playing with several
fledgling garage bands until his graduation in 1978. He joined the Army right after graduating and was
stationed in Germany. While in Germany, Russ played drums for Back Porch Country and the County
Line Band playing in the Military Club System and several local festivals. After his retirement from the
Army in 1998 and moving to Minnesota, Prior to Jazmin and the Gents, Russ’ past bands include Dave
Carlson Trio, Wylee, Wobblebox, .340 Magnum and West Highway.
Russ has been married for 40 years and has two adult children. His son Russ and daughter, Jenny. When
he is not gigging, Russ enjoys catching other local bands, riding his Harley, and tinkering in his pole barn.
